Key Stage 2 hockey tournament

This week, 11 pupils across KS2 had the opportunity to participate in the annual Waltham Forest hockey tournament at the one and only Olympic Park. Throughout the day, pupils participated in a variety of coaching sessions. The sessions were then followed up by small-sided games against a range of local schools. Over 50 teams competed in the competition and we managed to make it through to the final 16. A huge well done to all Winns hockey players!

Year 4 Swimming Sessions:

All our Year 4 classes will be starting their swimming sessions at Waltham Forest College during the spring term every Friday morning from Friday 8th January 2016 through to Friday 18th March 2016.

They will be accompanied by their class teachers and once at the pool they will be instructed by qualified swimming instructors!

Each class has its own time slot at the pool, so please speak with your child’s class teacher, who will be able to advise which class has been allocated which time slot. Please remember to send your child into school with a swimming kit, which should include a swimming hat, towel and a proper swimming costume/trunks.

“The instructors have really helped me to build my confidence - they’ve been great!” Edith (Year 5)

“I find swimming has helped me to relax on a Friday and I think I might ask my parents to keep taking me after school and during the holidays.” Muhammed (Year 5)

“I’ve been improving my full-strokes and the instructors have really helped me to do this.” Zaida (Year 5)

Year 5 & 6 Athletics
