Letter to Parents of Current Reception children moving up to Year 1
14th September 2020
Dear parents and carers,
Unfortunately we have had a positive case of Covid-19 in school. A staff member has tested positive. As a result, following advice from the Local Authority, we have to close the current Reception bubble (those children now in Reception who were due to move to Y1 this week) for two weeks as a precautionary measure. We will send out a further ‘more official’ letter in the morning with more details. In the meantime, if you have contact with other parents in Reception, can you please let them know (we know that some will not see this in time and may turn up tomorrow).
We feel really sad that we have to do this so early in the term, just when the children are settling back into school so well. We fully appreciate how difficult this will be for you, particularly if you have work commitments. We also know how upset the children will be when you have to tell them that they cannot come to school tomorrow. Please reassure them that their new teacher will call them later on in the week and we will of course be sending work home for them to do while they are away.
The current COVID situation is difficult and none of us know what the next couple of months will bring. Thank you for your support during this difficult time – look out for further information tomorrow and do let us know if your child becomes ill with COVID symptoms and tests positive for the virus.
Please keep safe and we will see you all soon
