Eat Healthy and Be Active!

Here at the Winns Primary School we are always busy being active and eating healthy! Here are just some of the activities we’ve been taking part in:

 

  • Yoga after school club (KS1)
  • Swimming (KS2)
  • Keep Fit club (KS1 and KS2)
  • Athletics after school club (KS1)
  • Athletics after school club (KS2)
  • Cricket after school club (KS2)
  • Football after school club (KS2)
  • Rugby coaching (Years 1 and 2)
  • Cycling proficiency (Years 4, 5 & 6)
  • Fruit and vegetable stall (KS1 and KS2)
  • Sports Day (KS1 and KS2)

Year 1 Rugby Coaching:

 

Throughout summer 2019, on every Tuesdays and Wednesdays, Year 1 classes at The Winns Primary School will be experiencing some rugby coaching by our award winning coach, Paul Quill. Recently awarded Coach of the Year by Haringey Sports Development Award, he will be teaching the children the rules of the game, as well as some basic ball handling, passing and relaying skills.

Quad Athletics Competition
Last week, our KS2 Athletics team had the opportunity to compete against other schools in Waltham Forest at the annual Quad Kids athletics competition. A mixed bag of events provided the squad with the chance to showcase their talents in throwing, jumping, sprinting and long distance running. An exciting day was had by all 38 members of our team.
